Maximilien de Robespierre, the original Untouchable (L’Incorruptible) and genius badass of oratory bravado and insane workaholic intensity, who basically grabbed hold of a disorganized, bloody French Revolution and made into a world-shaking event. Able to deliver speeches lasting several hours, straight from memory, powered by a passion for justice that left him able to function without sleep or nourishment and to blow his own jaw off when the end came, he used his bourgeois education and supernatural charisma for the cause of the poorest workers and sans-culottes. Plus, the guy was unbearably cute, and must have looked hot without HIS culottes! I think he is very crush-worthy, “terror” be damned!
best Robespierre bio I’ve read
